THREE DIMENTIONAL GREENING ON ARCHITECTURE
Since the door to vertical garden opened by French botanist Patrick Blank, relevant technologies had been widely used by architects and builders, plus related industries had been growing around the globe in rapid paces. As architects and designers, how to integrate the vertical garden into architectural design is no doubt a fascinating study topics to the profession.
Three Dimensional greening applied on the built environment is a comprehensive modern technology that integrates architectural expression and botanical techniques. When we are talking about three dimensional greening, normally that will cover a few types of spatial characters, i.e. Green Wall, Green Roof, Green Slopes, Green Infrastructures and soon. Factors affecting the successfulness of the greening system varies. Water proofing treatment, anti-root piercing material, irrigation system, selection of specie set call play critical roles that make the greening system alive and in good working conditions. This ADARC lecture series focusing on green building will share our viewpoints both from theoretical and technological perspective, which are to explore more opportunities for practicing architects who are interested in green building design and researches.
