Nelson Tam graduated with First Class Honors in Architecture from The Chinese University of Hong Kong and earned a master’s degree there. He has worked in Hong Kong, Basel, and Zurich, and taught at ETH Zurich’s Studio Basel. His multicultural experiences have shaped his innovative and forward-thinking design approach.

For over a decade, he worked at Vanke Architecture Research Center in Beijing, holding roles like Managing Director and Lead Designer. As an expert in industrial real estate and corporate headquarters design, he has led projects for national-level high-tech parks, including biopharmaceuticals, medical devices, and smart manufacturing, covering over 20 million square meters. His work spans early-stage planning, master planning, and design, with completed projects across the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei area, the Yangtze River Delta, Central China, and the Greater Bay Area.

He also developed design standards for branded parks and corporate headquarters in China. Notable projects include the Baidu Global R&D Headquarters in Beijing, which set new standards for internet company offices, and the China Optics Valley Convention & Exhibition Center, a model for high-brand-value park design. The LIFE Zhengzhou and the Zhongshan Cuiheng New Area Biopharmaceutical Innovation Center have set benchmarks for biopharmaceutical projects in China, addressing local and global standards.
